Payment must be made BEFORE the entertainer starts the event. If you choose to transfer payment by bank transfer we advise doing this at least a week before the date to ensure payment has reached the account in time.
Entertainers expect to be paid before each event and in the event of last minute cancelations, (as they turn down other work to take on your gig) they expect to be paid in full or a % of what’s owed, depending on reason for cancelling.
If cheque suits you better we suggest sending this 2weeks in advance to ensure the cheque has cleared before the date of the event.
13.5% VAT is applied to all bookings where you are dealing directly with the company for payment. Our VAT number is 3384986DH!
We advise clients to read over the package you have chosen and the information you have provided so that you know exactly what to expect on the day. We ask that you give as much notice as possible should you need to cancel.
All deposits are non-refundable. However, if your party is NOT during December or May your deposit can be taken from the next party you book with us!
Genie Mackers is a booking agent. An adult must be in the room at all times during the performance. Genie Mackers cannot accept responsibility if a family member/guest harms his/herself or others during the party.
We do not punish or discipline children. If a child is misbehaving it is up to the client and other adults present to talk to that that child. To avoid disruption and ensure maximum enjoyment for all involved, we ask that an adult remains in sight and sound of the party at all times. Children under three should be attended at all times.
Many of our entertainers work in a professional capacity with children who experience learning difficulties. Should any guests be diagnosed with any learning or behavioural difficulties please do not hesitate to discuss this with us when you make your booking. This way the most suitable entertainer can be allocated to your booking, and can be made aware of any special requests or requirements.
Genie Mackers uses the following products in our parties: Diamond FX, Cosmic face glitter, and Smyth’s Bubble Juice. Please note that while these products are designed specifically for use with children, please inform the entertainer if any of the children attending the party have unusual reactions to any of the products above. By choosing to include face painting in your package you are agreeing that you are happy to use the following face paints on your child’s skin – our entertainers use Diamond FX face paint which are hypoallergenic however each child’s skin is different and by choosing to included this activity Genie Mackers cannot take responsibility if a reaction occurs. We advise that you familiarise yourself with the product before opting to include this activity.
Please note that bubble Juice contains glycerine which can sting eyes. In the rare event that a child should get Bubble Juice in eyes it may cause stinging, and occasionally redness. Naturally, we endeavour at all times to avoid an incident like this, but it is not possible to guarantee prevention. While we have never encountered an allergic reaction to Bubble Juice, it is important that clients inform us of any unusual reactions to glycerine or sodium laureate (the foaming agent in most shampoos) so that alternatives can be considered.
If you have chosen to include the face painting as part of your party, we recommend that the kids arrive at the same time as the entertainer. This helps to avoid queues. The entertainer will not be able to engage all of the children while she is face painting. Face painting can take roughly 30minutes for 15 children so if you would rather the kids were entertained as a group for the duration of the party we recommend that the face painting be omitted.
The entertainer will work in whatever space is available. However, the clearer the room, the wider her choice of games and dancing will be.
The entertainer should be provided with a table for face painting, and a plug socket for the sound system. Some parents prefer to have the face painting in a separate room to the entertainment.
We ask that clients try not to have distracting toys in the room where the magic show is being held, and remove any breakables. It is also possible to entertain outside if it is a nice day as long as a plug socket is available.
If you choose to give the party food while the entertainer is there, the best time for this is at the end when the entertainer is creating and handing out the balloon animals. Giving food during the entertainment (magic, puppets and party games) can often distract the children.
Once we have confirmed your booking the entertainer will be in touch with you via the week of the party. Please make us aware if you have not heard from the entertainer the day before the event and we will follow it up for you
